Main European and UK Landmarks

Pet Taxi and Private Transfers Between the UK and France, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Switzerland

What transport services do we offer to and from the UK?

We drive you door to door between the UK and continental Europe, in both directions:

  • Private transfers between London and Paris, the Paris airports (CDG, Orly, Beauvais) and Disneyland Paris
  • Pet taxi between France and the UK: your dog or cat travels in the car with you
  • Long-distance transfers between any UK city and France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Spain or Italy

Our licensed, English-speaking drivers pick you up at any address, airport, train station or seaport and cross the Channel with you through the Channel Tunnel (LeShuttle), or by ferry on request for trips without pets. You can book a day, a week or several months ahead.

Can I travel between France and the UK with my dog or cat?

Yes. Your dog or cat travels with you in our car, in its carrier, through the Channel Tunnel. We hold a Type 2 UK Animal Transporter Authorisation (no. UK/REIGA/T2/00114987) issued by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA). The two vehicles we use for pets, a VW Passat SW (up to 3 passengers) and a VW Caravelle van (up to 8 passengers), are inspected and approved for animal transport by NSF Certification UK. The Channel Tunnel operator only accepts pet transport companies that hold both.

When you book, give us each pet's name and microchip number, which are checked at the Channel crossing. The Channel Tunnel pet fee, €29 per pet and per crossing, is added to the price. See the documents your pet needs in the FAQ below, or the official LeShuttle pet travel requirements.

Can I add stops or detours on my way to or from the UK?

Yes. When you book a ride from A to B, you can add up to 8 stops or detours and say how long you want to stay at each. At the end of the booking, you see the all-inclusive price, covering the detours and the waiting time.

Short comfort stops for a snack, a restroom break or a walk for your dog are free and do not need to be booked. Longer stops are charged as waiting time: €70 per hour for an SW, sedan or minivan and €90 per hour for a van, by the quarter hour.

How much does a long-distance ride to or from the UK cost?

For example, a private transfer between central Paris and central London costs about €765 by VW Passat SW (up to 3 passengers) and about €841 by VW Caravelle van (up to 8 passengers), which is about €105 per person when 8 people share the van. The drive takes about 5 hours 50 minutes, including the 35-minute Channel Tunnel crossing.

Included in the price:

  • The price is per vehicle, not per passenger, and is fixed when you book: traffic and Channel crossing delays do not change it. Pick-ups late at night or very early in the morning may be priced higher
  • All taxes, service fees, road tolls and parking
  • Booster seats and child seats, free of charge

Charged separately:

  • The Channel Tunnel or ferry ticket, bought by us and invoiced at cost: from about €145 one way for a car on off-peak dates, more in the holidays and for a van (see the FAQ)
  • The Channel Tunnel pet fee: €29 per pet and per crossing
  • The London Congestion Charge, if your address is inside the charging zone

See our fixed prices between the UK and major European cities in the table here, or get an instant quote in our online booking form. You can also see the price per mile and per kilometre and the rules we use to calculate the total price of each ride.

Can I modify my booking?

Yes - modifications are free of charge: the date of the pick-up, the addresses, the route and stops, or the number of passengers. Changing the pick-up time is free too, unless the new time is late at night or very early in the morning, which may increase the price slightly.

As our prices are based on distance, changing an address or adding a detour may increase or decrease the distance, and therefore the total price. If a new date or time changes the price of your Channel Tunnel ticket, or LeShuttle charges a change fee, we invoice it at cost. Just let us know by email, or by phone if your transfer is about to start. For our cancellation policy, please see the FAQ below.

What types of vehicles can I book?

We offer a range of vehicles to suit your needs:

  • Sedan - comfortable for up to 3 passengers
  • Station Wagon (SW) - ideal for 3 passengers, with extra luggage space for 5 medium-sized suitcases
  • Minivan/MPV - our premium choice for up to 4 passengers, with a large luggage trunk that holds up to 7 medium-sized suitcases
  • Van - for up to 8 passengers, with an extra-large luggage trunk that holds up to 12 medium-sized suitcases; the lowest price per person for groups

Travelling with a pet? Choose the Station Wagon (VW Passat SW) or the Van (VW Caravelle): they are our two vehicles approved for animal transport.

Do I need a passport and an ETA to travel to the UK?

Yes. There are passport controls between France and the UK, and both the French and the UK checks take place before you board: in Calais when you travel to the UK, and in Folkestone or Dover when you travel to France. When you book, we need each passenger's passport details for the Advance Passenger Information required at the border.

If you are not a British or Irish citizen, you also need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) - including children and babies. Travellers who hold a valid UK visa or UK immigration status do not need one.

  • What it is: a digital travel permission (not a visa) linked to your passport. You must travel with the same passport you used to apply.
  • How to apply: on the official UK ETA app or the gov.uk website, for a small fee. Most decisions arrive within minutes, but apply at least 3 working days before your trip.
  • Validity: 2 years, or until your passport expires, for multiple stays of up to 6 months each.
  • Without an ETA, the Channel Tunnel and ferry operators refuse boarding, and we cannot take you across the Channel.

If you need a visa to visit the UK, apply for a visa instead of an ETA. Apply only on the official gov.uk ETA page or app, as unofficial sites charge extra fees.

Travelling from the UK to France? Passengers with a non-EU passport, including British passports, may have to register their fingerprints and photo for the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) at Folkestone or Dover before departure. We allow extra time for it.

Pets travelling to or from the UK ride only in the station wagon or the Van, our two vehicles approved for animal transport.

Our Fares and Prices

How do we calculate the total price for our long-distance taxis and transfers?

We follow a simple principle: the longer the distance, the lower the price per mile or kilometre. Our standard rate is based on the fastest route calculated by Google Maps between your departure and arrival points. For one-way journeys, the total distance also includes the return trip to our base in central Paris.

You can find the exact, all-inclusive price for your transfer by sedan or van using our price calculator and booking form.

Conversion rates:

1 kilometre = 0.6214 mile

1 mile = 1.609 kilometres

Please note: the minimum distance for a booking is 30 km (19 mi). For shorter distances, a fixed price applies.

We offer three types of tariff:

1. One-way: standard rate based on distance, per kilometre or mile. The total distance includes the return to our base in Paris.

2. Same-day return: pay only the outward fare plus a waiting charge for every 15 minutes; the return trip is free. This is the most economical option if you travel to and from the same destination on the same day. The return drop-off address must be anywhere in the Paris region.

3. Return on another day: multiply the one-way fare by two.

Waiting charges:

If you need a taxi or transfer with waiting time or multiple stops - for example, travelling to one city or address where we wait for you before continuing to the next destination - a waiting charge is added to your fare. Waiting charges are quoted per hour, but you pay for every quarter of an hour you use. The waiting rates are: Sedan / Station Wagon (SW) / Minivan: €70 per hour; Van: €90 per hour.

Please note: short comfort stops of up to 15 minutes along your route - for example, a restroom break or a quick snack at a motorway service station we are already passing - are free of charge. Longer stops, or stops where the driver waits while you visit a place, are subject to the waiting charge described above.

Travel to and from the United Kingdom

For journeys to and from the UK, the price shown on our instant quote and booking form does not include the Eurotunnel or ferry ticket, nor the pet fee if you travel with an animal. The total cost of this transfer has a fixed part for our transport service and a variable part for the Eurotunnel or ferry crossing. A deposit equal to the crossing ticket price is required. You can view Eurotunnel shuttle ticket prices here.

Long-Distance Taxi and Pet Taxi Prices To and From the UK

In the table below, you will find our prices for the most popular long-distance transfers between the UK and France, Spain, Switzerland and Italy.

Our prices are the same in both directions, and the same on weekdays, weekends and public holidays. Travel times and prices are calculated from city centre to city centre, so the price shown in the booking form may be slightly higher or lower, depending on your exact pick-up and drop-off points.

Not included in the prices in the table:

  • The Channel Tunnel ticket, which we buy for you and invoice at cost
  • The Channel Tunnel pet fee, €29 per pet and per crossing, if you travel with a pet
  • The London Congestion Charge, if your address is inside the charging zone

When you book, we ask for a deposit equal to the price of the Channel Tunnel ticket and pet fees.

Can't find your departure or destination in this table? You can calculate the price of a taxi or private transfer between any European city and the UK using our instant quote and booking form, or request a free quote through our contact form.

Crossing the Channel With Us: Channel Tunnel and Border Controls

How long does it take to cross the Channel?

We cross the Channel through the Channel Tunnel (LeShuttle) between Calais and Folkestone: it is faster than the ferry, and as our prices are based on distance, you pay for the ride, not for waiting time at a port. A ferry crossing is possible on request, for trips without pets.

The crossing itself takes 35 minutes. LeShuttle asks drivers to arrive at the terminal 1 to 2 hours before departure, and at least 90 minutes before with a pet, so allow about 2 hours in total for the Channel crossing, including check-in and border controls.

What happens at the Channel Tunnel terminal?

  1. Check-in: your driver checks in at the booth with your booking. You do not need to do anything.
  2. Pet Reception: if you travel with a pet, you present it with its documents, and its microchip is scanned.
  3. Border controls: the French and UK passport checks both take place at the departure terminal, in Calais when you travel to the UK and in Folkestone when you travel to France. Keep your passports and your UK ETA at hand. When you travel to France, passengers with a non-EU passport may also have to register their fingerprints and photo for the EU Entry/Exit System (EES).
  4. Boarding: boarding starts 25 minutes before departure. You and your pet stay in the car during the 35-minute crossing, and you can get out to stretch your legs.
  5. Arrival: we drive straight off the shuttle onto the motorway towards your destination.

What passenger information do we need when you book?

To buy your Channel Tunnel ticket, we must give LeShuttle the Advance Passenger Information (API) of every passenger, including children. You cannot travel without it. For each passenger, we need:

  • full name, gender, date of birth and nationality
  • type of travel document (usually a passport), its number, issuing country and expiry date

If you travel with a pet, we also need its name and microchip number, which are checked at the Pet Reception.

Pet Taxi France to UK: Frequently Asked Questions

Do you need a licence to transport pets to the UK?

Yes. A company that transports animals by road as part of its business needs an Animal Transporter Authorisation under assimilated Council Regulation (EC) No 1/2005, and its vehicles must be inspected and approved for long journeys. To carry pets through the Channel Tunnel as a pet transporter, the operator (LeShuttle) asks for both documents. Before you book any pet transport to the UK, ask the company for its authorisation number.

Our transporter authorisation: UK Animal Transporter Authorisation, Type 2 (Articles 10 and 11), no. UK/REIGA/T2/00114987, issued by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA). It is valid for journeys of any length, including journeys over 8 hours, until 15 April 2030, and covers dogs, cats, fish, parrots, canaries and hamsters.

Our approved vehicles: VW Passat SW (certificate NSF 1888, valid until 1 April 2030) and VW Caravelle van (certificate no. 2112, valid until 23 July 2031), inspected and approved by NSF Certification UK under Article 18(2) of the same Regulation. Pets travel only in these two vehicles.

Copies of these documents are available on request.

What do I need to bring my dog or cat to the UK from France?

Bringing a dog or cat to the UK from France or another EU country requires:

1. A microchip, implanted before the rabies vaccination.

2. A rabies vaccination, given when your pet is at least 12 weeks old. After a first vaccination, you must wait 21 days before travelling.

3. An EU pet passport or an animal health certificate showing the microchip number and the rabies vaccination.

4. For dogs only, a tapeworm treatment given by a vet between 24 and 120 hours (1 to 5 days) before you arrive in the UK, and recorded in the passport or certificate.

At the Channel Tunnel terminal in Calais, you present your pet and its documents at the Pet Reception before boarding. We plan your pick-up time so that we arrive at least 90 minutes before departure. Up to 5 pets can travel in one vehicle with their owners.

Do you also offer a pet taxi from the UK to France?

Yes. We pick you up with your dog or cat at any address in London or elsewhere in the UK and drive you to Paris or any city in France or continental Europe. In this direction, you travel in the car with your pet: the Channel Tunnel does not accept commercial transport of animals from Folkestone to Calais, so pets cannot travel from the UK to France without their owner. Up to 5 pets can travel in one vehicle.

What does my dog or cat need to travel from the UK to France?

If you live in the UK and are taking your dog or cat to France, your pet needs a microchip, a rabies vaccination (at least 21 days before travel after a first vaccination) and an animal health certificate (AHC) issued by an official vet in the UK no more than 10 days before you reach France. Since April 2026, EU pet passports are only valid for owners whose main residence is in the EU, so most UK residents need an AHC for each trip. No tapeworm treatment is needed to enter France. On the way back to the UK, your dog will need a tapeworm treatment from a vet in France or the EU, 1 to 5 days before arrival.

I am moving from the USA to the UK with my dog. Can I fly to Paris and continue by car?

Yes, and many pet owners do. Apart from assistance dogs, pets cannot fly into the UK in the cabin or as checked baggage on regular flights. Many airlines, however, accept small pets in the cabin to Paris. You can land at Charles de Gaulle airport with your pet, and our driver will meet you in the arrivals hall and take you door to door to London or anywhere in the UK through the Channel Tunnel.

Your pet will need a health certificate to enter the EU and another one to enter Great Britain, both prepared in the USA before you fly, and dogs need a tapeworm treatment 1 to 5 days before arriving in the UK, which a vet in France can give. Check the exact requirements with your vet before you travel, and contact us if you need help planning the trip.

How does my pet travel in the car, and how many pets can come?

Your dog or cat travels in its own secure pet carrier, in one of our two approved vehicles: the VW Passat SW (up to 3 passengers) or the VW Caravelle van (up to 8 passengers). Up to 5 pets can travel in one vehicle with their owners. On long journeys, short stops so your dog can walk and drink are free. The Channel Tunnel pet fee, €29 per pet and per crossing, is charged by LeShuttle and added to the price of the ride.

Can my pet travel to the UK without me?

On request, from France to the UK only. A pet travelling without its owner is a commercial movement, and the documents and booking process are different from a trip with the owner. Please contact us before booking, and we will tell you what is needed. From the UK to France, the Channel Tunnel does not accept pets travelling without their owner.

How do you cross the Channel with a pet?

With a pet, we always cross by the Channel Tunnel (LeShuttle, Calais - Folkestone). The crossing takes about 35 minutes. Before boarding, you check your pet in at the Pet Reception, which is open 24 hours a day. The Channel Tunnel ticket is not included in the price of the ride: we buy it for you and invoice it at cost. LeShuttle fares change with the season, the day and the time of departure, from about £124 (about €145) one way for a car on off-peak dates, such as winter weekdays, to £229 (about €270) or more during the summer and Christmas holidays. A ticket for our van costs more, because LeShuttle classes it as a large vehicle. Pets are not accepted on Eurostar trains.

Do passengers need an ETA to enter the UK?

Yes, most of them. Travellers who are not British or Irish citizens, including children, need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they travel. Apply online well before your trip: the Channel Tunnel operator checks it before boarding and can refuse passengers without one. We also need each passenger's passport details when you book, for the Advance Passenger Information required at the border.

Will I incur any extra charges if my plane is delayed?

No, we monitor your flight's progress and will adjust your vehicle's arrival time accordingly, ensuring there are no extra charges for delays.

What if my flight or train delay is more than one hour?

We understand that sometimes it could happen. If you anticipate that your flight or train will be delayed by more than an hour, please notify us as soon as possible via e-mail, SMS, or phone call. Depending on vehicle availability, we can either reschedule the start of our service to a later time or cancel it without any penalty.

Are taxes, tolls and parking fees included in the price?

All taxes, bridge and road tolls, and parking fees are included in the instant online quotes provided on our website - except Eurotunnel or ferry tickets for journeys to and from the UK, which are invoiced separately at cost. For transfers between the UK and continental Europe, please make your booking at least 48 hours before the pick-up time.

What is your cancellation policy?

We will accept any cancellation without a fine if you make it at least 24 hours before the pickup.

No-show: A 100% charge applies if you do not show up for the transfer.

Cancellations must be communicated via email or phone, especially if the transfer is imminent.

Channel Tunnel tickets: we buy your LeShuttle ticket in advance, and whether it can be refunded depends on the ticket type. The Standard ticket, which we book unless you ask otherwise, is not refundable: only its date and time can be changed before departure, and LeShuttle may charge a change fee or a fare difference. If you cancel, the price of a Standard ticket is not refunded, even when the ride itself is cancelled free of charge. If you want to be able to cancel, ask us for a FlexiPlus ticket: it can be changed free of charge and is fully refunded if cancelled no later than the day of travel, but it costs more (from about £284 each way for a car).

Can I book a transfer now and make changes or add a stop later?

Yes, you can request changes to your booking via email. If the transfer is imminent, please call us directly. Changes to your itinerary can be made free of charge. However, please note that any modifications to the route may affect the distance and, consequently, the price. Moving the pick-up to late at night or very early in the morning may also increase the price slightly.

What happens if the car I booked is unavailable?

When you book an Economy class car, we reserve the right to provide a similar or upgraded vehicle if your selected car is unavailable. If we upgrade your vehicle for this reason, the price stays the same. The price changes only if you ask for a higher class of vehicle yourself. For a trip with a pet, the replacement is always one of our two vehicles approved for animal transport.

When will I receive confirmation of my booking?

You will receive three emails confirming your booking:

1. Initial Confirmation: An automatic email confirming that your booking has been recorded by our system.

2. Booking Acceptance: An email from our manager confirming that your booking has been accepted.

3. Driver Assignment: Once a driver has been assigned to your journey, you will receive an email with the driver's name, phone number, and photo.

For your first booking on our website, you will also receive a welcome email with your login and password.

What should I do if I haven't received confirmation and my transfer is starting soon?

First, check your spam folder. If you don't find the confirmation email there, please call us at +33 7 82 30 62 95 and we will assist you promptly.

For all other conditions, please see our General Terms & Conditions.

An excellent Service and a fantastic Driver.

Your review
A driver from aramis-paris picked us up in Orly on arrival from the USA. He was on time and extremely helpful.
We used the service again to go from Paris to Southampton, UK. Due to the heat wave, closed roads in the UK, and terrible traffic it took longer than anticipated, but we were fortunate to have the same driver who picked us up at the airport.
Serge, our driver, was an amazing. Serge was very professional and stopped when we need to stop for a restroom break. If we use aramis-paris in the future we will request him as our driver. We would recommend this service and our experience was first class.

Serge was a really good driver who helped me a lot (i am in a wheelchair due to temporary physical disability). He pushed me to the station while i had my luggage and got me to my train and pushed me onto it. He is very comfortable to be around and very friendly. I felt very safe with him and the journey was very enjoyable. He asked me what sort of music i like and he put it on. I am a woman on my own so for me to feel safe with someone, it means a lot to me.
